Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?
If we were having coffee I’d want to tell you all about the things that I did last weekend which I completely forgot about in my concerns about the fires last weekend. Now the fires, while not contained, have stopped spreading so much and the concern is much more our horrific air quality from the smoke. However, the weather patterns that are moving in today should help take care of that! They will also bring in some potentially heavy rainfall, and that could further complicate things where the burns have happened, as those steep mountainsides are kind of dependent on root structures to help hold them in place….
But that all aside, I did some pretty awesome last weekend. On Saturday I “attended” a full-day Catio Tour, hosted by Cats Safe At Home, which is a collaboration between the Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon, Portland Audubon, Bonnie Hays Small Animal Shelter of Washington County, and Multnomah County Animal Services. As you (might) know, I have a Catio to help appease Midnight Monster, and am always looking for ideas on how to improve it. The Catio tour was PERFECT for that! It included a mix of DIY and professionally build catio’s around the area, and there were some awesome videos of each of the featured Catios as well as Q and A sessions with the owners (and sometimes the contractors). I know have a multi-stage plan so that, hopefully, by this time next year my Catio will be even cooler!
Then, on Sunday Night, I “attended” the Princess Bride Table Read, which was a fundraiser for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Most of the original cast was there, and the people who stepped into part where the actors were unavailable did a stellar job. It was a spectacular experience and I’m SO glad that I decided to watch it! There was also a Q and A session at the end of that which was a lot of fun.
After such a busy weekend last weekend, I plan to spend much of this weekend in a more relaxed state. There is homework to be done, and work for some different committees and groups to be done. I’m also continuing to do some volunteer work with the library, even though my internship is done.
Oh! Speaking of the internship, the Percy Jackson themed escape room I created as part of the internship is now live! I’m very excited to have it out there now! Give it a try!
What are you up to this weekend? Any plans?
Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
