Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?

Welcome to the weekend everyone! I’m really enjoying having time off from school – been doing a fair amount of relaxing, as well as lots of cleaning and organizing. The big house-rearranging projects are continuing on, and last weekend I was able to update the doors on my Little Free Library, which I’m rather proud of!

I still need to get some more shelves created in there – when I got it there was only one shelf and I haven’t gotten around to figuring out the widths I need for the replacements. I only put a few books out in it this past week, because we were getting a lot of rain and I wanted to make sure the doors would work as I planned. But now we’ve had a week of rain, and tomorrow is supposed to be pretty clear, so I’m going to put more books out there!
It’s exciting to get it back up and running after being out of commission for a few weeks, and partially out of commission for longer than that!
What is everyone else up to these days?
Bravo on the book share – nothing more inspiring that seeing nice deeds that bring a community together!

I love that! Do you get a lot of book traffic?

It fluctuates. I opened it two springs ago, and was getting pretty decent traffic before the Pandemic hit. When COVID first started up I shut it down for a while, when we weren’t quite sure if it could spread through surfaces (and because of my autoimmune disease I didn’t want to risk it). When I opened it up again this summer it picked up again pretty quickly, so now that I have the new doors on I’m hoping it will get decent traffic again. I have a few families nearby who like to stop by it, which is always fun!

I love the free library concept. We have a small, one shelf one, just over the ridge from us. I’ve stopped and put books into it on occasion. Wish I could put one up where we live, but apt management would have a fit. The vinyl should help protect the books, for sure. Great idea! Have a Merry Christmas! 🙂 Bear

That’s a terrific little library! I know folks in our neighborhood would enjoy that. Makes me wonder if I should take the initiative.
