If we were having coffee… well, we’d be having it virtually I think. I am trying to find those places that I can practice some social distancing since I’m still having to go through my regular commute and work and everything. It’s been kind of surreal, watching this pandemic unfold. I’m trying to do what I can to keep myself healthy, and to hopefully not contribute to the spread at all. Finding good information, keeping informed and sensible, cautious and not panicked… all hard things to balance sometimes.

Beyond that… the yarn crawl last weekend was pretty fun. I just didn’t have the same level of energy as I have in some years, but I got some pretty things to work with (once I have the time to work with yarn again!) and one of my friends won a prize basked which is pretty cool! I’m about halfway through my semester, and it looks like I have almost a month of down time (most of May) between semesters so already planning what I’m going to try to get done in that time!

That’s about all I have for now. Work is going on, school is going on, and I’m just doing my best to be safe and healthy. I hope everyone else is doing well, take care of yourselves, and take care of each other!

  1. As like most others, I am trying to balance the concerns of the coronavirus with living a normal life…which is important so that our everyday services continue to function and people don’t panic for no reason. And of course, wishing everyone health and happiness – by sticking together we will all get through this.

  2. I am not going to panic and wish the world wasn’t in a panic. Not sure what the future holds, but hopefully with all the shut downs things will settle down and it won’t get too bad. Praying for the future and a full fast recovery! Thank you for hosting the coffee share and it was nice to have coffee with you today. Kindly, Diana

    1. I’m with you. Fear and panic only make matters worse. The virus has been contained and more people will die this year of the flu, diabetes, obesity and other diseases. We still have no cases in my town and the surrounding towns yet life has ground to a halt.

  3. I hope you find some “prime time” for making things with your yarn in the midst of all. Having most of May off between semesters sounds wonderful! Our break when I was at college was August, between the summer and fall semesters. Lovely weather for hanging out and enjoying life in between tasks.

    Best wishes for your week!

  4. Hi Ali,
It’s been hard to find the line between fear, panic and genuine risk at our end. I have an auto-immune disease, asthma and lung fibrosis. I already have a terrible barking cough and my lungs operate at 50% at the best of times. So, I’m in a position where I’m going into battle only my main battle plan is retreat and I’m particularly grateful for my blogging community, and in particular the weekend coffee share, because if I do have to withdraw for an extended period of time, then I won’t be alone. I’m also grateful for our puppies because they’re wonderful companions who are with me most of the time and a cuddle, pat and throwing the ball are wonderful diversions. They also make me laugh.
Despite my health situation, I think I’ll get through this because I am taking precautions and I’m eating fresh fruit and veg and trying to be the very best I can. Just wish my lungs weren’t quite so weak. I’ve just had a chest infection and I’m barking like an old english sheepdog. This bark would clear a train.
Anyway, I’d better get to bed.
    Best wishes,
    Rowena
