Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!

It’s nice to be sharing coffee with you, I’m sitting here hoping for snow, enjoying a nice warm latte that I made using some of the syrups I got for Christmas.

For the next week I’ll be celebrating my birthday (which is on the 16th)! Starting this weekend – on Saturday a friend is taking me out to breakfast, and then I’m having a bunch of friends join me at this awesome little Mexican restaurant I adore for lunch. It’ll be great to see them all – and to just relax and enjoy some good food and a good time.

Why am I doing my birthday celebration this weekend? Well, because on Friday the 17th I am heading off to the Oregon Regency Society’s Winter Retreat! I haven’t done an events with them before (aside from a sewing day, which was much fun), and am excited to spend the weekend away from everything, wearing period-appropriate attire, and relaxing. Reading, writing, disconnecting from electronics, eating delicious food… it’s going to be spectacular!

So, much of my free time this weekend will be devoted to continued work on my costuming. I started with NO wardrobe, and have made a bunch of undergarments (including the stays/corset)! Now I have a few dresses, but have a little more that I want to get the basics sewn. My dresses (this go round) might not have a lot of adornment or detail work, but they’ll be pretty!

What are you up to this weekend?

  1. Happy birthday week! This weekend is all about an awards event my wife is attending – she’s a nominee – so I am doing all I can to help her get ready and will be her loudest cheering section!
