If We Were Having Coffee…

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I have been really enjoying the A to Z Challenge this week.  I’ve been happy with my posts, and am excited by the guest posts I have coming up!  Today’s the first one, my friends 12 year old son wrote a story for me about J, the Squirrel.

I also did my first guest post over on An Unconventional Librarian — where I got to write about Island of the Blue Dolphin.  It had been a long time since I’d read that book, and it was awesome to get the opportunity to re-read it.

I’ve been doing some thinking about my time management — I know that I have far too much on my plate and have to decide priorities.  Disparate Threads is going to be revamped… I just have to decide how it will look.  I know that I can’t keep posting a story update there every Monday, not if I have any intention of making progress on the novel (and I do, I am still holding myself to the goal of having a real functional (and approaching submit-able) draft by the end of this year).   It is hard to have to make those decisions and I’m trying to not jump into any too quickly, but giving a lot of thought to what I want to do with that blog-story.

What have you been up to this week?  Any projects going on that you want to talk about?   If you’re participating in the A to Z Challenge how are things going?  I’d highly encourage you to join the A to Z twitter chat on Thursdays if you can — I often am having to participate in the evening one via my phone during my evening commute, but it’s a lot of fun — a great group!

Today I deemed “Writing Day” so need to get moving on that, but thanks for joining me for coffee today!

Today’s post is a part of the Weekend Coffee Share, graciously hosted by Part Time Monster every weekend! A time for us to come together, share a cup of coffee (or our beverage of choice) to share some of what is going on in our lives.  It’s a lovely check-in time.

  1. I’ve got a few new faces on the Monster this month, too, and I think that’s really exciting. I like how A to Z allows us to get jump-starts on some of those things. 😀

  2. I also really wanna have a finished, sorta-submittable draft this year… Preferably before September… aaaaaaaaaand that’s not gonna happen, because that’s like four months. But maybe this year.

      1. …no, no I’m not writing. I should be. *hangs head*

But yeah, we should keep each other on schedule. 🙂 I actually wanna spend tonight MAKING a better schedule for myself.

  3. and if I were to have a coffee, I’d complain that it is so gray outside, no flowers blooming, that I miss the warmth of real spring. 😀

  4. I didn’t even think about guest posts. I should have. My surgery is on Thursday and then two to three days in the hospital then home for six to eight weeks. I should have gotten a couple of guest bloggers for when I’m in the hospital. Duh!

I’m enjoying it but it’s stressful. A to Z, that is. Stress because I don’t have the energy to read a lot of posts. I find I can read about two or three then I need a long break. I’m needing a lot of sleep these days, too.

I’m glad you’re having fun with it!

    1. Guest posters has been a great way to go. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do on my blog anyhow, so it’s nice to get it started!
Sleep is the most important! If you can’t get to all the blogs you want, even getting to a few is a great start!
Will be sending you good thoughts for your surgery and recovery!
