Hello everyone! It’s hard to believe that I’ve been keeping this blog, in some form or another, for almost 10 years. I started mid-year 2011. For the past few years this has been primarily serving as a vehicle for Weekend Coffee Share posts, such as this. However, as we step into 2021 I’m looking at making some changes. I’m going to step away from hosting the Coffee Shares – though I may still post from time to time I just don’t have the energy and inclination to keep hosting it. I invite any of you to pick up the mantle though – I’ve been using an inlinkz free account for people to add their links to so it really is something anyone could do without any monetarily investment.

Who knows what will come in the coming year – I’ve got school and work to focus on, as well as digging back into some of my hobbies and interests that have fallen to the wayside in the past few years. I hope to get back to occasionally blogging about some of those things, I want to be writing more again, and I’d love to share some of my fiber arts projects and genealogical discoveries.

So this is my last Coffee Share post for a time. I hope someone else does continue them, as it is a wonderful tradition which has outlasted many hosts! I’m going to be spending the New Years Weekend relaxing (a pattern over the last few weekends), and preparing for “the big move” that is happening in January. After much work it looks like I’ll be able to finally arrange my bedroom/office and my fiber arts room to be all set up by the end of the month. I’m really excited about this – and think it will set me up nicely for an enjoyable year. I know that I’ll be spending most of my time in the coming year in these spaces (because it certainly isn’t looking like we’ll be returning to any form of “normal” any time soon) and it will be great to have them set up the way I really want them.

What are you up to this weekend? Are you doing anything to celebrate the start of a new year?

  1. Happy New Year, Alli! Even though I joined the Weekend coffee share recently, thank you for hosting it. I’ll be happy to continue the Coffee Shares if no one else is picking up the duty. Let me get organized and share the news on my blog.

  4. Thanks Ali for keeping the mantle going all this time. I wonder how many of us are still here since the last changing of the guard? It’s great Natalie can take it up, and I hope you’ll still pop by.
    Best wishes,

  6. 10 years is unbelievable! I was on my big for 3 years and it burnt me out. I’m giving it another go…

Since we’re having coffee, I’m particularly addicted to mochas at the moment. Hot, earthy with that forgiving splash of sweet…. perfection!
