Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?
Hello again my friends. I want to thank you all for the kind words last week, it means a lot. It’s been a strange adjustment in our house, with Monster getting to experiment with venturing out of my room and into the main part of the house (which used to be Skippers turf), and those strange moments of just expecting Skipper to be underfoot.
Last weekend was a bit of a blur. I worked on Thursday and Friday, on-site (the first time I’d done that since starting this job in June), and having just a two-day weekend felt so strange after having three-day weekends since June! I’m back to the three-day (or more, thanks to the holidays) weekends until January. Because I’m doing okay financially with the lost day, I’m quite enjoying having this extra time… it’s going to be a bit tough going back to full-time when we go back from furlough! Even more of a shift will be when we go back to working on-site, but that is looking like a long way off still.
This weekend I’m going to get my room squared away (the clothes pile, you guys, it has a mind of its own at this point), maybe a little weaving, and a little bit of homework. Because I took classes that had different amounts of credits, this weekend I only have one class running, Monday my other two classes start up (one that will run a month, the other runs through the end of the semester in December). I’m looking forward to them, but also going to do what I can to take advantage of this weekend of semi-rest!
I hope everyone is doing well, hanging in there, and taking care of themselves. Right now it feels like we need the reminders to take care of ourselves more than ever. I keep reminding myself (and being reminded) that we can’t help others if we aren’t also taking care of ourselves.
