Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?

Look at me, getting this post done ahead of time for once! Rather than a day late and quickly typing it on my phone while trying to do something else at the same time…..
New classes for the semester started this past week. I’m taking four classes total this semester, but most of them are 1 or 2 credits (rather than the standard 3 credits) so they’re a bit spread out and I ultimately only have 7 credits for the semester. Unfortunately my careful planning to not overlap classes too much didn’t QUITE go as planned, so October unfortunately has three classes in it, but that’s still only 6 credits. Of course, having worked two part time jobs at once before I am assuming the “two part time jobs is more work than one full time job” wisdom also applies to “6 credits across three classes is not the same as 6 credits across 2 classes”.
Since they just started I’m still getting my footing, but I’m excited about the two classes I have going right now. “Web/Text/Data Mining for LIS” runs for the whole semester and is going to be a lot of new information for me! “Exploring the Digital Content Services Lifecycle” is a 1 credit seminar that runs a month, and is also going to be a whole lot of new information for me! It’s exciting to be moving out of the intro classes and into the classes that are mixed with everyone – some people are right at the end of their time in the program, others of us are pretty new (though the end of this semester will mark 1 year for me, of my anticipated 3 years)!
Really school and work have made up the bulk of my time. Still wrapping up my library internship, and looking forward to sharing some of the things I’ve done for that with you all when they go live!
Hope you’re doing well, staying safe, and staying cool!
Best of luck with your crazy schedule!

Your post made me miss school (yes, Im a total geek, Lol!) but not the first-day craziness involving schedules and exchanging classrooms and dropping and adding credits. Mostly, it’s looking forward to subjects and, like you said, getting a lot of new information that makes it worthwhile. Stay safe and have a good weekend.

It sounds like you have an interesting fall ahead of you. I’m not planning on taking any university classes this fall, but I have marked my calendar for some interesting workshops that I am looking forward too. Thanks for the coffee!
