Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?

Hi all. Thanks for the well wishes last weekend – my schedule got completely thrown off with the broken toe. It’s developing a pretty spectacular bruise at this point, and still hurts (though certainly less than it did last weekend), but it threw off any plans I had for last week – including my coffee share post!
I spent some of the week sleeping (my body is healing, after all), and worked a bit on my weaving. I realized that it had been a while since I worked on it and it felt good to just sit down and start weaving. It’s calming in a way that crochet never was for me, and I really am glad I discovered this craft.
I’m joining the ranks of those applying for unemployment. It may be temporary, there’s a lot up in the air at the moment, and it’s a tough time. I am thankful that I’ve been employed this long, and trying to keep as positive as I can. My life has taken all sorts of unexpected twists and turns, and I’ve come through them all, so I have to trust that I will make it through this as well.
Okay, I’m going to go back to some weaving for now. How are you doing? What’s been going on with you this week? You hanging in there okay?
Glad you found an activity you enjoy! May you be successful in applying for unemployment.

Again,s sorry to hear about the toe, glad its mending…in this “upside down” world, that’s the last thing you need! Good luck with a job going forward – as things begin to go back to whatever “new normal” will exist, the job market will reopen again!

Hi Alli. I’m so sorry to hear about the broken toe and this atop your employment situation. Yuck! I also know you are strong enough to press through both challenges and most likely bring a few folks along with you to a healthier, better place in life. Hang in there. You’ve got this.
Ongoing hopes for your recovery, peace and grace.

Oh, those toe injuries — while they sound like they should be minor — can be very MAJOR indeed. I’ve been in that position, and I’ve realized that even my little toe in pain affects my entire body and my whole psyche. So glad you are seeing improvement. And I love that you’ve found a hobby that really does relax you. That’s so important — especially right now — when just sitting at home can be a little nerve-wracking. Hope you coming week is much better and brighter.

Unemployment is not fun. Hope it is not a state you are in for too long.

Good luck with unemployment! Hopefully everything goes smoothly.. Ouch! I’m pretty sure I broke my pinky toe years ago, or at least fractured it. Pretty wild shade of purple. Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry to hear about your broken toe. I hope you soon get a job. If you or any of your readers needs work the Census is hiring. You work in your neighborhood and set your own hours. The pay is good. I can answer questions. Apply at 2020census.gov/jobs.

I know that the census had been a consideration for some. It isn’t something I’m particularly going to be looking at (likely), but it’s always good to share that information!
