This weekend I’m going to be taking a brief break from all the work that needs to be done, all the homework stacking up, and take another venture back into the world of Regency. Or, at least, the costuming and food!

Back in January (which now seems AGES ago) I got tickets to take myself and my mom to a Leap Day Feast that the Oregon Regency Society is throwing. It’ll be amazing food, great company, and a chance to wear one of my dresses again (I’ll try to get a good picture!) I also made my Mom a dress for the event, hers is a little bit of an experiment in a different style, and hopefully I’ll be able to get the finishing touches on it done Thursday and Friday night (since the early part of Saturday is now filled with school meetings, which I will be attending with rag-curlers in).

School has been going well enough, I’m getting excited about some of the opportunities that are arising from it, and just wishing that I didn’t have to have a full-time job in order to have reasonable health insurance. I could be getting actual experience in the field, taking part-time jobs that are relevant, and really immersing myself into the work if I wasn’t also having to hold down a full time job to keep my insurance. Balancing it all is a lot of work, but it’s what I have to do.

In the meantime, though, I make the most of it, and look forward to those moments escape when I can put everything aside and just have fun for a while.

  1. Ah – truer words Alli. When I think of all the things I could be doing except for having to do the things that are needed… I hope your quick break back to Regency proves to be more fun than you expect.
    Blessings
