If we were having coffee….
I’d welcome you to a chilly November. It’s been colder than usual here, which I honestly haven’t minded too much. I like the cold (my joints don’t, but I do), and I’m kind of hoping that this means we’ll end up with some fun weather this winter. I love snow and storms, and could really use some this year. It would just make me happy.
November means the start of National Novel Writing Month. This year I’m participating (as I do most years), and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get some fiction-writing going. It’s been a while since I’ve really written much at all and I do miss it. The point of NaNo (at least for me) is to shut down any inner editor and just let words flow. When I was younger that’s pretty much how I wrote anyhow, I just let the words flow through me and often it was as though I weren’t writing the stories, but just channeling the tales of creatures of other lands. Once I started thinking about my writing as something I wanted to share with others, though, it took a different form and I had to start thinking about editing and things making sense and all that stuff…. and eventually (over many many years) I just kind of lost the flow. So it’s been FAR too long since I’ve really written fiction, and I want to get back to it. NaNo this year is marking my kick-off of writing for me. Fiction for no reason other than to put stories on a page and see where they lead me. So, much of the weekend will be devoted to getting a kick-start on all that!
What are you up to this weekend?
YEAH, another Nano-ite! I’m not “officially” registering, for many reasons, but I am going to be writing this month. I’m thinking I may use this year to work on some past writing that needs some polishing, I have about 5 -6 novels all in some state of completion. So, between unpacking, quilting for charity, and getting my new home in order, I’ll shove some writing time between. I hope! I’ll be back later to post as I want to get a few pics of our new place for this week. 🙂 ❤ Have a great one!

Best of luck with your writing this month. I think it’s brilliant to have an outlet were you can just write anything on your mind. Enjoy your weekend!

First of all, good luck with your writing! For me, the month is dedicated to personal and professional goals being met..a lot to do, but do-able…and of course, my iWatch told me this morning that I have to burn 32,000 calories this month…not sure why they gave me that “November Challenge” but I can’t argue with my watch!

Yep, I’m in for NaNo again, too. Trying nonfiction essays this year. I wish you good words this month and beyond!

Have fun with your writing! Let it flow. My poetry group for the poem-a-day effort during NaNoWriMo is smaller than usual, due to schedule conflicts and deadlines, but a few of us have started out on it and a few more plan to join in as they get the chance. We do the NaPoWriMo and NaNoWriMo together, and I also do the Haiku one in February. Such fun!

Best of luck with NaNoWriMo. It’s a great challenge. I’m not exactly participating. Instead of writing 50,000 of something new, I’ll write some new articles and resume writing projects I’ve put on the back burner.
