#WeekendCoffeeShare: Midsummer Nights Dream Themed Weekend!

Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!

Grab a cup of coffee and share with us!  What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans?  Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?

All are welcome! Just add your link to the Linky-List, and be sure to visit others and join in their conversations!  The link will be open from Friday July 19 at 7 am (Pacific Time) until Monday July 22 at 7 pm (Pacific Time) to give us a good range of “weekend”!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Nice to see you again this weekend!

This week I’ve been sort-of-solo for a few days. Mom and I share the house, and she was up visiting my sister, brother-in-law, and nieces for a few days mid-week. Since I’m out of the house for work and my commute about 12-hours a day (and asleep for about 8 of the remaining hours) this didn’t have too big of an impact on me, but there were some things.

Like taking care of Mom’s dog. Skipper is a sweetheart, a Yorkie-Maltese (or Morkie) who is getting up there in years. He’s a bit of a handful sometimes, though – very needy and has some medications that he has to take. She’s got a crew of people who help take care of him, give him walks and have him over to their house during the day when she’s gone… but this round the med’s were my responsibility. Which meant waking up a bit earlier in the morning to get them in him before I left for work, and hanging out in the kitchen area a bit more after work to make sure he got the medicine then too.

But, I needed to do some more prep for the party I’m attending this weekend, so I didn’t mind a bit of extra time (and space) in the kitchen as I did the prep work to make the snack I’m taking. I was able to assemble one of them last night!

Since the party isn’t until Saturday night you’ll have to wait until next week for all the pictures (or check out my Instragram). I’ve also been working on the dress I’m going to wear, and am excited that I’ll be receiving a floral crown when I get there! It’s really a whole community of artists and artistic-types coming together for this grand summer party and celebration. I’m very much looking forward to it and look forward to telling you all about it when it’s done!

I’ve also started undertaking a bit of an overhaul of the blog. Some of you already commented on the new layout, and along with that I’m doing some sorting and organizing. I’ve been blogging here for almost 10 years and that’s a lot of old posts hanging about. I don’t want to discard them (though I do need to cull through some of the mess-that-is-my-media-files) but I want to be able to find the ones I’m looking for. I also want to take steps to make this blog more accessible (like alt-descriptions for images, now that there is a way to do that here in WordPress). It’s going to take me a while to get it all sorted out, but it’s nice to have gotten a start!

What are you up to this weekend? Anything exciting or fun on the horizon?

  1. First, that appetizer looks terrific! As for me, it’s a party night in Los Angeles, as Hugh Jackman is performing live at The Hollywood Bowl – look on the Instagram for pics all night and I will no doubt post a story about the night as well! Here’s to a great weekend for all of us!
