This has been A WEEK. Really, the week of busy started last Thursday, when we had the majority of our staff out either on vacation or sick. Most of the staff hasn’t fully recovered, we’ve continued with partial coverage throughout the week (and a busy week at that). Thursday my co-worker who has helped me keep things running this week got the crud that’s making the rounds and so was out. Since last weekend was pretty full of activity it barely registers to me that I had a weekend, so I am VERY MUCH looking forward to this weekend! I have almost all of Saturday to rest and relax — I think some napping may well be in order, but also some putting away laundry and reading.

I didn’t end up getting to do any reading for the Readathon last weekend. The tea I was helping run took up most of the day and I was just too worn out after it to do much of anything. So, I must make up for it this weekend! Not only do I have a growing list of books I need to read for a project I’m working on, but also all of the library books I had on hold have come through so I need to get reading if I want to get through them before they have to be returned! AND I have an ARC copy of a book to read and be ready to review when it comes out in May… much reading required!

And I want to complete the shawl I’d started working on. It’s taking me quite some time to get it warped on the loom (that’s stringing the threads that go the long-way on the shawl), because it’s a smaller yarn than I’ve worked with before, and I had to restring it once, and have to add more… my goal is to have it ready to actually start weaving by the end of the weekend. Because the actual weaving part is relaxing and I can totally do it after work (though I can’t weave-and-read… unfortunately).

What are you up to this weekend? Anything exciting? How has your week been?

  1. Savor the time. I often imagine how prolific my writing would be and clean my house could be if I didn’t have to rest or sleep. Ha!

  2. I do hope that you’ve gotten enough rest and recuperation over the weekend. Myself, I am trying to pay attention to “non-household” activities and promise myself that I will try to catch up on chores during the coming week. Best wishes!
