Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?
All are welcome! Just add your link to the Linky-List, and be sure to visit others and join in their conversations! The link will be open from Friday March 22nd at 7am (Pacific Time) until Monday March 25th at 7pm (Pacific Time) to give us a good range of “weekend”!
The Link-up system has rolled out an update, so let me know if you have any trouble or if this link doesn’t work for any reason so I can take a look at it!
I work at an academic testing office, and this week was finals week — so it was BUSY. Finals to us is kind of like the Christmas Season is to retail workers, fast paced, a lot of repeating ourselves, and working with people who are sometimes emotional, often stressed and anxious.
I admit, I’m writing this before the week is done, but I’m going to take a leap and say that I survived. Phew! So now I spend the weekend relaxing and recovering. Friday night I’m going with some friends to another paint-night. I’ll share the pictures next week (and on Instagram in the meantime). I’m super-excited about this painting, the picture reminds me of the lake I camp at every weekend, so I’m going to “go rogue” a little bit in my painting of it and MAKE it the lake. There’s a distinctive island in the middle that I should be able to emulate in the painting. Hopefully it will turn out well! Unlike the last one I made (which is still sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be hung) I actually know where I can hang this one.
Saturday I’m going to my local coffee shop for a “Stitch-and-Bitch” gathering. Though a few of our regulars aren’t able to make it, there are others who can so I’m looking forward to spending some time with them and doing some crafting. I hope to finish a shawl I’ve been working on for a while — especially since I’ve decided to weave the baby-blanket I’m working on (and my loom is just a little too big to make a good coffee-shop project…). I did finish the shawl I had been working on though, and I’m super-proud of how it turned out, I’m looking forward to getting more projects done on the loom, I’m really enjoying it and it’s so relaxing!
The weather here has taken a turn to the warm, so I’ve been enjoying the spring weather (and the actual start of spring! Hello spring!)
What are you up to this weekend?
I have a quick trip in my future – but I will be able to eat fresh Dungeness Crab and Oysters, so it’s worth the effort!

I hope that your Saturday has gone well! The handicraft projects sound like they’d be fun, as too the opportunities for social interaction. Best wishes for your week!

Another painter LOL with a painting with no home yet. The ones we are working on now in addition to our regular paintings are murals and will be hung on the walls of the building that I live in and will hang until we get enough done to have to take them down and replace them. There aren’t many of us in the class so it could take a couple of years as this is an 8 story building.
