They’re calling for a big storm this weekend, so I’m not sure what the weekend will look like. I’m supposed to get together with a friend tonight for dinner and a game night, but if the storm comes in early then I won’t be able to go to that. I packed an overnight bag just in-case I end up stuck there for a while.

If some of the forecasts are correct we could end up with snow all week, with a little ice thrown in. Since it’s only been a few years that we have only been getting real winter weather with any regularity we just aren’t equipped for this kind of weather. There are not enough plows, the pre-treatment for the roads is hit and miss, and people just don’t know how to drive (or walk) in the snow and ice. So no matter how much snow we get it causes issues.

Hopefully I’ll have some lovely snow pictures, assuming I do get snowed in at my house I plan to so a lot of reading, more crocheting (I’m behind on a few projects), some more organizing and cleaning, and hopefully some writing. I have a bunch of half-finished reflection pieces and blog posts that I’d like to actually do something with, book reviews I want to write, and some stories that really do need some attention. Probably a bunch of sleeping will also happen because, well, it’s me.

What does your weekend hold? Have you been dealing with extreme weather where you live?

  1. First, the weather – i live in Los Angeles, where it has rained fairly steadily for the past two weeks, ending our terrible drought…cold here but we complain if it dips under 50, so we will be fine. Second, I am planning for Valentine’s Day, and shared that on the link, plus have one more to share before the big day as well – happy weekend everyone!

  2. Best wishes for your weekend, Alli! We just finished shoveling out from the last blizzard, which ended during the night, when we got up, this morning. Couldn’t get our front door open! 😀 Hope your weather doesn’t turn really bad on you.

  3. Hope your shovel is ready. I, for one, am glad this polar vortex has missed us and my snowblower remains idle.

  4. The weather here has been such a rollercoaster, but that is typical for Colorado. We’ve had some snowstorms, after which the temperatures soar near the 60s before another snowstorm rolls in. I hope it didn’t get too bad where you are and if it did I hope you got a lot of writing done. Thanks for the coffee!
