Welcome to the weekend!!
Sorry about last week – I had oral surgery on Wednesday and just completely lost track of time (mostly sleeping) until Friday afternoon.
This week has been strange. I’ve had an abundance of energy, something I’m really not used to. I’ve channeled some of that into getting some Christmas decorations up – it’s nice to have the extra lights and decorations around. I have one friend who always gets her Christmas cards out early, so I even have a card up already!
I also took charge of decorating the outside of the house this year – so spent some time this weekend putting up lights. I have a few more to put up, but have to wait for this coming weekend so I can have some daylight time. It’s dark when I leave home for work, and it’s dark when I come home from work… I can’t wait for the return of light….
This weekend we’ll get our Christmas Tree, and I am going to get a massage (which will be so nice!) Other than that I am hoping to rest a bit. While I’ve had this strange energy, next week is a super-busy week for me at work, so I want to prepare for that.
I can’t believe that it’s already December. Where has this year gone?!
Alongside the strange burst of energy that I’ve had my brain has been a little all-over-the-place, and I seem to be having trouble focusing on writing this post, so I’m going to leave it here.
What have you been up to this week?
My wife and I have been attending many “for your consideration” screenings in Hollywood as awards season is underway – I linked to my story about seeing Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga discuss “A Star Is Born” last night, and earlier in the week we saw Rami Malek discuss his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody” – ’tis the season – Oscar season!

It sure feels like December got here early. I think the holiday decorating and being ahead of things adds to energy; I have my Christmas cards done as well. Enjoy your massage, such a great weekend activity.

My week has been overly full, and I am looking to slow down, now that the business has ended. I have been noticing the shortness of daylight, this year; I cannot remember this happening in previous years. Fortunately, aside from October snows that came and went, we have had nice weather, here in eastern North Dakota. Hope your recovery after the oral surgery goes smoothly!

I hope you have fully recovered from your surgery. I can understand time getting away from you. It happens to me all the time. Perhaps the new energy is the new you. The oral surgery might have released something. have a good week and thanks for coffee.

Hi Ali. Sorry to hear about your oral surgery and hope you’re recovering well. Time and I don’t get on well at all. Indeed, my mother has stopped looking at the clock because she knows she’s not going to like the answer. I think this is taking things too far and while she’s always been in her own time zone, it used to just be 20 minutes out. This has the propensity to fall off the cliff entirely. We’ll see her sometime next year.
Best wishes,
Rowena
