#WeekendCoffeeShare : Time to reflect, and a busy day!

Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?
All are welcome! Just add your link to the Linky-List, and be sure to visit others and join in their conversations! The link will be open from Friday July 20th at 7am (Pacific Time) until Monday July 23rd at 7pm (Pacific Time) to give us a good range of “weekend”!

If you are unable to post your site into the link-up for any reason feel free to drop it into the comments and I will do my best to add you to the linkup!

Hey! Pull up a chair and join me for a bit. As we pretend to sit around the table enjoying some coffee (or beverage of your choice) I’m also going to offer you some of these delicious baked goods I am pretending I made this week. I’ve been on a bit of a binge watching baking shows, and feeling inspired to do some baking again. It’s been a long time, but unfortunately it’s going to be far too warm this weekend to be working extensively in the kitchen, and my energy is still not quite up to actually doing baking experimentation. So in the meantime, let’s pretend that this is a gluten-free mini-berry tart (like this one I made years ago), and perhaps a gluten-free toaster-pastry  as well. Hmm, yes, that would be quite yummy.

Since I’m not going to be up for baking this weekend, what am I going to be doing? This weekend is actually turning out to be rather full. A friend of mine is going to be in town for a conference, so I’m hoping to connect with her briefly for some coffee or a meal. I’m planning on getting brunch, or lunch and drinks, with another friend, and then Saturday night I’m going to see a local theater production of Chess. I’ve enjoyed some of the songs from that for a few decades now, so it’ll be fun to actually see a production!

And that’s just Saturday.

Sunday I am working in the morning, teaching a class at church for the month, and then hopefully spending some time chatting with my bestie. I also need to put aside some time for some writing, and to do some cleaning and food-prep for the week. One of the things that I really want to do is spend some time dedicated to really exploring what topic I want to start getting myself started in researching. I’ve got a few things to think about and reflect on as far as writing goes and what projects I want to focus on, and I’m going to dedicate a bit of time to intentional reflection on that.

What are you up to this weekend? Any good plans?

  2. You’re a busy gal Alli. It all sounds like great stuff though. It’s hot here too – too hot for my liking, but my family seems to enjoy these temps so I stay in front of my fan.

I do look forward to each coffee share weekend and hearing how everyone is doing. Thanks again for hosting.

  3. Hi Ali,
Great to catch up with you again. After an appointment today, I detoured via Terrigal Beach on the way home and ordered a fisherman’s basket and absorbed the sunshine and beautiful scenery. It was the calm before the storm of son missing his school bus, ducking off to the shops for some scripts and now my daughter wants to go to the shops. Not sure what she is planning to spend there… Not sure taking her is going to do our bank balance any favours either. I commented today on just how difficult it is just to get a picture frame up on the wall. The response was that most families probably have a pile of frames waiting to go up. Something that at first seems so easy but is actually more complicated and there’s always so much to be done. Now, I just feel like a snooze.
Hope you have a great week. It’s already almost half over here.
    Best wishes,
