This week I’d be very excited to tell you all about the progress I’ve been making! I can wiggle my toe a bit more, bend it better, and even flex it some with gravity. I mean, I can just barely lift my heel off the floor, and most of that is being managed by the ball of my foot and my other toes – not the area that had surgery – but… still. It’s very exciting for me! Bit by bit I know I’m getting better. The foot is still super-swollen, and it will be for a few months still, but I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to wear regular sandals in time to do some walking and light hiking this summer!
June is really the start of summer for me. Work enters into our summer-time schedules part-way through the month and everything shifts a little. Working on a college campus means that we enter into summer sessions; less people on the campus and the sun shining means my lunch breaks are pretty awesome. I’ve got a few things scheduled in the month too — next weekend is Knit (or Crochet) in Public Day, the weekend after that I have a game night at a friends, then the NEXT weekend I’m going to see the National Tour of Les Miserables and going to a friends wedding.
This weekend, though, this Saturday I’ve got a few online commitments (Skyping with my bestie, and then my weekly game-gathering with friends), a potluck (in place of the art auction, which got postponed another few months – more time for more art creation!) and then a day of rest on Sunday. I’ll be kicking it all off by going to see one of my favorite elementary-schoolers in a play on Friday night – it’ll be a lot of fun!
Sunday I’m hoping to get more writing done. I keep saying that, and one of these days it will actually happen. I’ve made a few little steps, tiny bits of writing here and there, but I need to carve out a few hours of time and make myself sit down and write. My plan is to do that some on Sunday – sleep in a little bit, make myself a good breakfast, brew up some coffee, and then sit down to write for a while. Once I write for the set time, then I can do something fun for a bit (before doing the cooking that needs to be done, because there are meals that need to be prepared)!
Hopefully I’ll get some good rest over the weekend as well… and some reading – because I am seriously behind on my reading.
What have you been up to this week? What’s your weekend looking like?
I love hearing about your progress. It’s awesome! I can relate to the wonderful feeling. I broke my leg really bad as a teenager, and had to wear a cast for 6 months (maybe I already told you?) Its as such freedom to have the cast taken away, and getting stronger by the day.

6 months in a cast!!? Yikes!
I broke my ankle when I was 16 – and had surgery on it a year later, but this healing seems like it’s taking SO MUCH longer… I suppose I am too decades older… yikes!

Glad the recovery is going well. I hope you are able to make it out for some light hiking later in the summer! I saw Les Miz a long time ago. Great musical. Enjoy it! Have a great week!

Sounds there is lots of great stuff going on and that is wonderful to hear. My weekend has 3 ball hockey games, a final exam for my nutrition course, some yard work, house cleaning and hopefully a bit of time to curl up with my book! Great post, thanks for sharing.

I know how hard it is to carve out writing time. I hope you succeed.

Good to hear your recovery is going so well. I hope you get and succeed with your writing time and plans. It’s too bad that work so often gets in the way of what we wish were doing… Bravo for your great news.

I’m so happy your foot is healing and your movement in the toe you had surgery on is improving. I really hope you can do a bit of walking/hiking later this summer.
I have posted my post for this linky too. Would love it if you’d share it to the link-up list. https://bloggingastrid.com/2018/06/03/weekendcoffeeshare-for-june-3-2018/
