An update to The House on Mango Street Banning

One of the most popular blog posts that I have is my Banned Book Week post about The House on Mango Street.

So I wanted to take a quick moment to post an update when I stumbled across an article this morning that is relevant to that post.

One of the challenges for the book was Arizona House Bill 2281, which banned Mexican American Studies – which a judge has now said is unconstitutional.

Part of the ruling states: “not for a legitimate educational purpose, but for an invidious discriminatory racial purpose and a politically partisan purpose.”
