#WeekendCoffeeShare: Busy Week, Sleepy Weekend

wordswag_15073188796611453091488.pngWeekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?
All are welcome! Just add your link to the Linky-List, and be sure to visit others and join in their conversations! The link will be open from December 8th at 7am (Pacific Time) until Monday December 11th at 7pm (Pacific Time) to give us a good range of “weekend”!

If we were having coffee I’d invite you to join me at a little coffee shop downtown. I’m meeting up with a friend soon, so why not start with an appetizer-round with you? Appetizer coffee is totally a thing, right?

Anyhow, I’m out here because today I am going to go yarn shopping! This spring I’m going to be participating in the Rose City Yarn Crawl with some friends, and have gotten the Mystery Crochet-Along for the event. So today we go in search of the yarn to make this project with. I’m hoping my friends will help me because, while I’ve been crocheting blankets and scarves for a while now, I’ve never paid a whole lot of attention to things like yarn weight, or color contrast.

We’re also going to be getting sushi – because… sushi. It’ll be a new place I’ve never been (being all the way on the other side of town from me and all) so I’m hoping that it’s got some good selection!

Other than that my weekend is, thankfully, pretty open. I am SO behind in wrapping presents, making presents, and getting my space in order. Need to put some real time and energy into my room — because I am not a fan of living in the whirlwind mess I’ve been ignoring lately. I’m also thinking of doing some rearranging — not sure what exactly I’ll do but, playing with thoughts.

Really, though, I’ll probably end up spending my free time this weekend sleeping. It was a busy week at work, and I’ve been dealing with a cold for most of it, so my energy is completely depleted. Which usually means that I just end up sleeping for most of the weekend to try and recharge a bit.

What are you up to this weekend?

  1. OMG that yarn crawl sounds awesome! My sister is a knit freak and I googled yarn crawl.. They have one that goes from MI to TN! Thank you for sharing that! I hope you feel better and have a restful but fun weekend!

    1. I’m hoping it will be lots of fun! I know it was pretty awesome to check out this Yarn place with friends who were working on the same project — we all picked out the yarn we’ll be using (and they all helped me decide on colors that would work… color choices and I have a complicated relationship).

  2. Oh my I wish I was there. Sushi. I love Sushi. I have never heard of a yarn crawl but it sounds fun. I remember my grandmother trying to teach me to knit but I didn’t take to it. Enjoy your weekend.

    1. It took me a few tries to learn how to crochet – and even now that I’ve been doing it for a few decades I still am very much a beginner – hoping that working through a pattern with friends will help me improve my technique.
The sushi was EXCELLENT. It was nice to try a new sushi place – I’ve got a few on my end of town that I like, but this one had stuff I’d never tried before.

  3. I have never heard of a “yarn crawl” but it sounds pretty damn awesome, and yes “coffee appetizer” is a thing, or it is now anyway. I hope you get the rest you need and start feeling better before the weekend is over. Thank again for hosting!

    1. I’m so looking forward to it!
And thank you for confirmation on the Coffee Appetizer – I think it is most certainly a thing that has to happen more. Of course – because of a shift in plans, the coffee I first got ended up being the only coffee I got!
