All are welcome! Just add your link to the Linky-List, and be sure to visit others and join in their conversations! The link will be open from October 27 at 7am (Pacific Time) through October 30th at 7pm (Pacific Time) to give us a good range of “weekend”!

Hi!
Thanks for joining me for coffee again this weekend. It’s been a strange week for me on the health front, but I am starting to feel like I’m turning a corner. Some of it, I’m sure, coincides with finishing a round of medicine I’d been on (which I’ll be talking to my doctor about NOT going on again, if there are other options, because the side effects were kind of rough for me), but I think my system may also be, finally, getting rid of whatever low-lying-ick it’s been fighting. As of now I’m excited at the prospect of having a weekend where I might actually have the energy to do something!

Which is good, because I have a few things that I need to do this weekend. There’s some Jamberry work (which I’ve kinda been neglecting lately), and there’s some reading to be done (I added at least three books to my TBR pile over the past few days), and there are some blog-posts to write (including about some of the books I’ve been reading). There’s cleaning (always… always cleaning…), and some cooking (because I have got to stop buying lunches, I really have to prepare), and some cat-cuddle-time (because, always).

And there’s Halloween to consider. I love Halloween, normally, but this year had been feeling a little lackluster about it. Then one of my coworkers started talking about her costume, and we decided to get a few of us to coordinate costumes. It may only be three of us, but I won’t be the only one wearing a costume that day, and it’ll be fun to be semi-coordinated (I’m going to be Dorothy, we’ve got a lion, a tornado, maybe a scarecrow, and MAYBE a witch). I just have to pull a few details together for my costume, but still need to take the time to do that — and I’m considering setting things up a little differently at my house in hopes of getting Trick-or-Treaters, so need to look at my decorations and such.
Late that night I’ll be heading out to a Midnight Write-In to kick off NaNoWriMo. Looking forward to it — took the next day off from work so I can get into the fun of late-night writing… it’s been a long time!

I’d tell you about the GF Expo last week. I was, unfortunately, not feeling very well, which means making it through the booths once was about all I could manage. Usually I would go through once, and then make my way back to selected booths to make purchases. Which means I missed out on some good prices, but still got some decent swag. Not as much as last year though. Next year I’ll take a look at the list of vendors to decide if I’m going to go — there were a few people I was surprised were missing.

Though I did discover a GF Bakery near me that I’m excited about (and bought SO MANY baked goods from… scrumptious!)

As for the reading marathon… well.. I did read a good bunch of the rest of that afternoon. Finished up two books and started in on a third – and discovered that a book I had turned into a single-book was actually part of a series! Yay for fellow readers sharing their knowledge to my confuzzelation!

How are you doing today? What kind of things are you up to this weekend? Any Halloween plans?

  1. Sounds like we’ve had a similar week! I’ve felt icky since Monday morning, not sure what is going on.. Glad to hear about your halloween spirit at work, nothing going on at mine (folding arms and pouting). But, we are enjoying the last campout of the year and it’s a Halloween camping weekend, so I’m in my glory.. Hope you feel better!

  2. Kinda know what you mean w/ Jamberry. I end up with similar when it comes to Mary Kay and Gemstra. So many things going on around my house (unfortunately not much of it very exciting) that “business” matters can sometimes get shoved off with the “famiy first” needs – LOL. Hope Jamberry is going well for you.
