If We Were Having Coffee – What a weekend it was…

If we were having coffee I’d start by apologizing for not making it to coffee last weekend.  I had every intention to, but it was just such a full time…

I dropped some hints during Three Things Thursday, but now let me give you more details.

Last weekend was my birthday weekend.  As I was telling people, I turned 3 and 5 😉  I had a good amount of celebration planned through the weekend, starting with breakfast with my mom at one of our favorite breakfast places.  It was quite nice, and the waitress even put a candle on my white-chocolate-and-raspberry mocha for me!

They also gave me a Birthday Dessert!  After much deliberation I decided that Creme Brulee was the best Gluten-Free Breakfast Dessert (and it was).

After Breakfast I headed out to a wine tasting with my dad and step-mom. It was a nice, relaxing time, with some very yummy wines from Oak Knoll!

From wine-tasting I headed out with a friend to see Book of Mormon!!  For the past year I’ve known that the touring Broadway Cast was going to be coming through on my birthday, and I knew that I wanted to go see it — so honestly, all my birthday plans kept revolving around going to see Book of Mormon!

After the show we went to Fogo de Chao, a very yummy Brazilian place that I adore. It was so yummy and SO MUCH food!  I even got a cheesecake to take home (and enjoy a few days later for Breakfast… don’t judge, it was my birthday week!) because we had other dessert plans.

We first went to a great candy store, and then La Provence for some amazing dessert!

It was a long, but awesome day.  Sunday I went out to breakfast with another friend, followed by some homemade (gluten-free) mac and cheese for dinner!

I had plans for Monday as well – I was going to meet up with Corina and Sabina for lunch! But, illness, exhaustion, and scheduling got the better of us all so those plans got delayed to another time and instead I slept till noon — which was a pretty spectacular way to end my birthday weekend!

The rest of the week has been pretty unspectacular, and I’m aiming to get a lot done this weekend – though I’m off to a pretty slow start so let’s enjoy another cup while you tell me all about your week, then we can launch into productive weekends!

Today’s post is a part of the Weekend Coffee Share, graciously hosted by Part Time Monster every weekend. A time for us to come together, share a cup of coffee (or our beverage of choice) to share some of what is going on in our lives.  It’s a lovely check-in!

  1. I was close! Sounds like you had a great birthday. I have a niece who has worked at a couple of Fogos – in Boston and I believe San Antonio, were she is now. Sorry the blogger meetup didn’t work. i read on Corina’s blog that she dropped out because she didn’t want to infect everyone.

    Have a great week!

  2. I’m glad you had such a fantastic birthday! I’m sorry we didn’t get to get together but it was for the best. I seen to have something going on with my stomach today. Even water is keeping me very close to the bathroom so I’m not completely well yet. One day, sooner than later, we can get together.
